Brunch Play date with Jimmy Dean!

March 17, 2016

I’m so excited to be joining the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association Cool Food Panel
of bloggers! I’ll be sharing frozen and refrigerated recipes and party ideas this year. I know we all
are looking for easy home meal ideas! I’m hoping to give you some inspiration on how to easily
whip something up for your family for special and everyday occasions! March is Frozen Food Month!
So today I’m sharing a fun playdate idea using items you can easily and quickly find in your
groceryā€™s frozen food section! Fresh ingredients, frozen at their peak, make for delicious
recipes that are super easy. Easy is always nice when you already have your hands full with, you
I love making special memories with my kids. I think it’s such a fun part of motherhood, besides
timeouts. Putting kids in timeout over and over is such a blast…. (Said no mom ever.) But getting
creative with my kids and making regular moments extra special with little touches has been really
fun for us. I wanted to have my friend and her kids over for a play date this month, and I thought a
morning brunch and coloring party would be fun!

I knew I wanted to have a fun breakfast for all of us, but easy was a must.
My kids love anything on a stick, so when I saw the Jimmy Dean Pancakes and Sausage on a Stick,
I knew it was perfect to make it extra fun!

The kids helped me set up a fun brunch table with crayons, coloring pages and some yummy food!
I like having the kids help me in the kitchen, itā€™s part of the fun!

I served Jimmy Dean Pancakes and Sausage on a Stick and was immediately the cool aunt. Nice
one, Jimmy Dean… you’re a genius. They are protein-packed, yummy, and in minutes, they made
the whole table seem extra fun! I also made a fruit dip just mixing whipped topping
and yogurt and pairing it with some fun fruit wands!

The girls helped me mix up some orange juice and fill our mason jars.
I got them at a party store called Zurchers. It definitely made it feel like a party!

We love yogurt in our house. But to make it extra fun, I served it parfait style… layering the yogurt,
granola, and frozen fruit (thawed) in my mason jars. The kids thought it was so fun!!
Frozen fruit alleviates all the work for you, no slicing or dicing needed
and I love the little crunch of the frozen strawberries!

We love to color in our house, so when friends are over we pull out our crayons and paper and let
the doodling begin! We also like to make phone calls on bananas.

I hope that you enjoy these simple but yummy ideas for making a play date extra special. I found the
Jimmy Dean Pancakes and Sausage on a Stick and most of the other ingredients in my frozen food
section… shopping the freezer aisle of my grocery helps me not spend all my money on crap.
It’s the truth! I know someone gave me that advice once, and it’s so true. The freezer aisle is chock-
full of high-quality foods and flavors that please everyone. I grabbed just what I needed and was in
and out of the store quick. Which is nice because I had a 21 pound baby strapped to me. Asher loves
being out and about in his carrier! 5 months of squeezy goodness.
Hope you have a wonderful day, mamas, and soak up your little ones today!
Baby snuggles before laundry folding. I need that on a mug.

I love the idea of having a kids brunch play date! How cute! My daughter and I both enjoy pancakes on a stick. I will not say if I’ve ever grabbed one for the car haha

I am loving the decor. I was just saying how some women (like Natalie) have the decorating talent and other women (like me) have none. :D
