HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
A few days ago we decided, HEY! Let’s have a Halloween Party!
We are very much last minute people and lucky for us a lot of our friends are too!
We already had most of our Halloween decor up to enjoy- we made it a potluck party with a costume contest and a sugar cookie decorating activity!

I’ve been meaning to share our fall decor-better late than never right??
I know you guys get it. ;)
Here’s a look at some of the spaces we decorated for Halloween that were part of the fun for the Halloween Party!
When you walk in the door the first thing you see is our giant spider web!
Target has had this same one over the years – love it. I use command hooks to hang this baby up.

I hung up these shelves last month so that I had something HIGH UP (away from kid hands haha) where I could decorate seasonally!
I mad the little hey book garland with fabric scraps, yarn and felt from Hobby Lobby.
The garland is from Pearl and Jane. They have CUTE Christmas ones!! gonna switch it out for the candy cane one after Thanksgiving!
The sloth mummy and vampire are from Hobby Lobby. The ghost and basket were bargain bin find at Target. I had the plants and faux pumpkin already. (from Michael’s)
The bats were from a big set I got on Amazon!

Our Fireplace we kept simple with a little DIY tassel garland and some bats!
I found this wax warmer at Target that gives the best glow- love all the dots with the light shining through.
The little knick backs are Target bargain bin finds over the years.

Yesterday after the big kids went to school I made up our traditional mummy pumpkins!
We do this every year and it’s so easy and spooky in a fun way.
Asher: ” Mom watcha doin?” Me: Making a mummy.”
Asher: “Oh cool. Are you gonna make a daddy too?” haha.
I use a pack google eyes and white fabric (cut into strips) from Target’s Halloween section to make our mummies! We got these faux pumpkins at Michael’s years ago.
The wooden cake stand is from Walmart. The table itself is Hobby Lobby (so is the sign! old but I’ve seen it there again.)
The bats here are an old mix of Target and homemade bats.

We had decorated the Playroom Kitchen to be a Monster Cafe earlier this month- the little ones played in here non stop last night! Busy little bee’s cooking up a feast!

Here’s a look at the dessert spread I made for the party! It was a potluck so everyone brought stuff and we filled EVERY INCH of our countertops haha. It was so fun. The house was packed and loud and crazy – lots of festive fun – I didn’t get many photos DURING the party because it was just non stop chatting and eating and fun. But here’s some shots before everyone arrived and we filled up the kitchen.

For the desserts I made Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes and then turned store bought brownies into mummies!
The kids were SO excited I also made dirt. Those went fast! Asher wanted me to put eyeballs in them but I just couldn’t do it haha. Being pregnant anything “gross’ makes me even more nauseas haha.
The Ghost handprint garland was a craft I did with the kids last Halloween!

For our “contribution” to the Pot luck, we made pulled BBQ chicken sliders. (handy crock pot recipe!) and pumpkin deviled eggs! Made a ton of these because I know my kids could eat a whole plate haha.
We just died the yolk orange and added a green onion. Those went fast too- I  didn’t even get one so we might be making more today. ;)

We had a sugar cookie decorating activity set up in the Dining Room! It was a HIT!
I used cookie cutters we had and our go-to sugar cookie recipe. (the one we’ve been making since I was a kid!)
I didn’t have a pumpkin cookie cutter….but we had ghosts, stars and ninjas. haha.

I grabbed a bunch of sprinkles from our cabinets (plus some candy eyeballs we had used earlier this month!) and used these skinny metal caddies I got from Walmart over the summer to store all the supplies. EVERYONE was asking me for a link via DM’s when I shared them in my stories… HERE YOU GO GUYS! AS PROMISED. BUT….. it says it’s $1.50 now and they have two left. :/
I used these cute mugs I got in the Target Bargain bins last month to hold our frosting options! (I just used tubs of frosting and died some purple and orange.
I love this mugs because they are metal and the kids feel like they are using “coffee cups” which is SO COOL to them. ;)
I grabbed some cake stands off my shelves to hold our sugar cookies and that was it!
The kids went BONKERS in here decorating and had a BLAST.
The bats are years old from Target. Always love hanging those! The kids love them.

We had a costume contest where everyone wrote down who they thought had the best costume and we put it in our little black cauldron- We had an award from a past party and I had gotten a Target Gift card for the prize and asked Sienna to take over this project haha.
A lot of people came in costume which made the night even more fun! Sienna would want me to tell you she came in 2nd place. I told her her prize was a hug from me. ;)

Well that’s it! I’m off with the littles to do some Halloween fun but I wanted to first share some of the decor and party details we had set up last night.
I hope you have a wonderful night tonight and make some amazing family memories!
Happy Halloween!
