First Week of Having 3 Children Update. (ps. we’re alive.)

November 24, 2012

UPDATE: We are ALIVE.
barely.
JUST KIDDING!
But seriously.. ;)
Looking at this boy’s sweet face just makes my heart melt!
I really just stare at him all day long.
We have the first week of having 3 kids under our belt. go us!

Couple things we noticed this time around…
1. Micah is a dream baby. so far. ;)
2. He smells like a boy…little tooter pooper.
3. my husband is extra proud of everything “boyish” about him…
example: farts..poops..rolling over(muscles)…. all impressive to my husband.
4. Changing boy diapers is a lot more stressful…..
The risk of being PEED on in your FACE is a lot higher than with girls.
5. Learning how to handle THREE kids..is tough.
but has it’s “we are awesome at this” moments to help you get through it.
6. Ben and I fist pump a lot more with each other about this baby…
proud of our cute baby and perfect “3rd child” producing skills.
(as the 3rd child in our families..it’s a proven fact they are the best.)
7. One of the best parts of having another baby..is seeing the girls interact with him.

Sienna is loving him up. She is 2.. a good age to bring home another baby I think!
She is interested enough to be lovey..but then not interested enough to be
able to go off and do her own thing and leave baby alone.
She has been a stinker at night..waking up and wanting only me.
working out those kinks.
Sophie is SO GOOD with him.
BUT…doesn’t want to let him go.
That’s a 4 yr old for ya.
She keeps getting upset with me for nursing him “all dayyyy”…
But she just holds him so sweetly.. “MOM! this is sooo fun!”…
and “MOM! He is snuggledddd up.”
I think it’ll be good when school starts up again for her…
bring back some of her normal routine.
But it seriously is the most adorable thing seeing her “nuggle” with him..
brushing her cheek against his and giving kisses.
I’m crossing my fingers this kid doesn’t
lose an eye from sienna…
or toe.
I don’t even know what’s going on here…..
newborn days.
enough said.
Loving being a family of 5!
Having my 3 babies feels so amazing…
not gonna sugar coat it…I’ve broken down into tears a couple times for no apparent reason.
I’m a big ball of hormones. Told my husband that.. his response.
“ok..I’m taking that as a warning…..”
haha. yup.

Getting used to our new normal is going to keep me busy…
I have some fun stuff to share as soon as these 3 bambinos let that happen.
Thanks for all the continued congratulations and well wishes. I read each and every comment/facebook post/instagram comment… I get excited about each one!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Congrats. I remember (barely) those early days with three kiddos. Once you hit your stride, though, the other two entertain the third so life is often easier.

Micah is SO precious! You are giving me a major case of baby fever over here, even with hearing about how having 3 is rough sometimes! (we have 2 girls) Keep your head up, you look like you are doing an amazing job!

Natalie, I don’t normally comment on newborns as unfortunately the poor little things just don’t seem to look themselves for a few weeks but he is just gorgeous! We are adding boy #2 to our family in March and I am anxious to see how life is going to change!! Congratulations to you and your family!

Congrats!! Your family is just so adorble! I dont know how you run such an amazing blog and do all those fun things with your kiddos! You are truly an inspiration to me! I only have one kid, a little boy who is 1, Im due in April with my second and Im just reeling with worry, (how will I handle this? haha!) it helps a lot visiting your blog! I have a question though if thats ok, did you know you were having a boy? If not did you have any intuition? Im just wondering! I wish you much joy and good luck with your family!

Congrats on your beautiful additon!! I found going from 2 to 3 was easier for me then going from 1 to 2. My kids were the same ages as yours. When I had my 2nd child, the oldest was 2 and always wanting my time, especially if I was nursing. When number 3 was born, my oldest was 4 and middle was 2. Because they had each other, they were able to keep each busy, and the 4 year old was just old enough to actually be a bit helpful.

Congratulations! I’ve been following your blog and it’s inspired me to document my family in the same sweet tone as you do. We are expecting our 2nd child at the end of March. We are also keeping it as a surprise until the end. Reading this post brought a huge smile on my face :)

Adorable family. It seems like you are doing a great job, so don’t ever let it get to you! However, as I middle child, I see sienna in many similar middle child positions here. It seems as though you’re giving many trusts to Sophie and lots of attention to the baby. Sophie is older and naturally understands a new siblings, Micah is the baby and needs your attention. Maybe some one on one w sienna will help? Like a weekly date alone w mommy or daddy? Just wanted to point out that everything you referred to is common with middle children, and it looks like she needs more attention. Hope you don’t feel like I’m critiquing u or anything, just from one mom to another :)

I totally agree with every item on the list, minus the boy ones of course :) I still just sit and stare at Lucy so much and yes, 3rd children are the best!! Or at least she is so far:) Love all the pictures, such a beautiful family! We need to live closer to each other one day so our girlies can play.

Love this post! I had baby #4 in September and my goal for the first few weeks was just to survive until my husband came home! I actually wrote my tips for Newborn Survival here: http://thebigwhitefarmhouse.blogspot.com/2012/10/chit-chat-and-then-there-were-four.html

    You’re doing great, Mamma!

Your family is so precious! I can’t get over how many beautiful pictures of Micah you have, he is so wide eyed and alert for 1 week! Glad the adjustments are going smoothly. Such a blessing to get to experience daughters and a son. Love that Ben is proud of his pooping/farting skills hehe!

Congrats again on your perfect 3rd child ;)

    Congrats!!!! Beautiful family you have!

My 3rd baby will be 3 in Jan. –where has time gone?? It’s great that your kids are pretty close together in age..Mine are 2@ 14 boys, with a DD who’s going to be 3! Huge gap—but I think it’s great! I found that the 3rd child changes everything you thought you knew about parenting! Keep your chin up—and congrats!

Oh, and FYI–the poops and farts, boy things–it’s just going to get ..’worse’!.lol

Congratulations! Micah is so cute and handsome. Love all the sisterly love. Good luck with the adjustment, and remember that it takes time. You’ll get it down in no time, and those hormones will calm down too. = )

Being 17 weeks with # 3, I’m so curious to learn your tricks once you get a few more weeks under your belt. ; )

Congrats on your newest little one! I also have 2 girls (ages 3 and 5) and a boy (14 months old). We didn’t know our last one was a boy and it was so awesome finding out when he was born that “we made a boy!” LOL We also get people thinking we are “done” because we got our boy. We have always wanted 4 kids, whether it was 4 girls, 4 boys or a mixture :)
Just wanted to say that I just found your blog and I can’t wait to have more time to read it! Congrats again and enjoy those newborn days!

Hi there new to your blog, and i love,it. Your so creative, i have three also and even a little sienna over here too, you will soon find a flow, like a rhythm. Mine are dd 7 ds 4 dd sienna 2.5….. Its not easy , i loose binkys like crazy, can never have sippy cups available, dishes r always piled up, but other than that, i got it and im proud of myself and am enjoying this phase bc having a clean sink isnt as important to me as spending time hugging and snuggling my little ones. Happy blogging and enjoy every moment, laugh it off, and create memeories. Lola miami
