MS Awareness

August 12, 2012

A college friend of mine was recently diagnosed with a sever case of Multiple Sclerosis this past March. Overnight she was left disabled and has
spent over the past 4 months in and out of hospitals and rehabs.
She has started working hard to promote MS and raise money for a cure.
Her mission is close to my heart because my Aunt also suffers from Multiple Sclerosis.
Maybe some of you know someone who also has been diagnosed..
Please offer some prayers of support for Elizabeth..
and if you can donate to help find a cure..
know that you are helping to change someone’s life!

I haven’t seen Elizabeth in forever..
but I remember her from school as a beautiful, joyful, bubbly, loves-life kinda girl.
I know that if anyone has the inner strength and courage to battle this..
it’s Elizabeth. Here’s her story so far in her own words..

“Multiple Sclerosis Is an autoImmune disease that affects the brain and spinal chord, the central nervous system. Ms is caused by damage to the myelin sheath, the protective covering that surrounds nerve cells. When this nerve covering is damaged, nerve signals slow down or stop. The nerve damage is caused by inflammation, occurring when the body’s own immune cells attack the nervous system.

Little is known about MS, as in what causes it and what can help cure it. Those that suffer from MS have little room for relief. It is hard disease in its unpredictability and limited hope. The more awareness that can be generated for this disease, the greater the hope. Hope that those suffering can find relief. Hope that more information can be discovered as to what causes it, to eliminate future diagnosises. Hope for a cure overall. For more info on MS and to discover how you can help, visit The MS Society website at : http://www.nationalmssociety.org/I was diagnosed with MS in March 2012, as a 25 year old, with a strong career and promising future. Overnight my life changed and almost 4 months later I am in a hospital rehab center relearning and hoping to be able to walk, talk and perform life tasks. There can be no room for discouragement. Only hope! Please check out my tumblr : http://sparklebutonce.tumblr.com/. And hope daily for a cure and for all those suffering from this disease!”
