Grandma’s Doll Tea Party!

February 7, 2017

My mom was Pinterest-y before there was Pinterest!!
I for sure get my love for being creative and creating special moments from her.
Last summer she threw the sweetest tea party for the granddaughters in town.
She surprised them with dolls of their very own waiting to tea party it up with them!
(The dolls are all from the Pottery Barn Outlet.)
These are some amazing memories I will hold onto forever.
Excited to share with you all the cute details she did for the doll tea party!

My sister accidentally bought “no return” halloween costumes from Marshalls…haha.
Her plan was to check sizes at home and return. oOPS!
But it ended up being AMAZING for tea party dresses for all the cousins.
So every time we are all together she busts them out and it’s officially a princess take over.
This was the first occasion they got to put them on and it was magical guys. ALL the princess poses.

Besides being an amazing hostess, my Mom is a plant whisperer.
She can make a dead stick bloom people…it’s crazy!
If you go to her house right now, she most likely will have
one of the guest room beds freshly made and ready for you,
brownies on the stove cooling and a whole back deck plant infirmary in full force. haha.
She’s always getting the clearance plants that everyone else has given up on.
My dad has totally come to terms with his tasks of bringing plants into the house on a tarp
if it’s supposed to get cold. We don’t even blink when he sends
the family text photos of the crazy plant happenings.
But her green thumb provides gorgeous flowers for all the grandkids to explore!…
Tomatoes to pick and butterflies to spot!
We have a garden book that the girls love because it
makes them think of Grandma and Grandpa’s house. :)

The Tea Party room was just the sweetest!
She pulled out her stash of linens and doilies and layered them around the table.
There was a spot for all the mamas, dolls and princesses.
The pillows for all the dolls’ chairs were so cute!
The treats she prepared were all dainty and pretty and put out on her fancy china and stands!

My nephew (big brother to the two cousins above) was the official
butler for the tea party. As you do…

Grandma introduced them as they came down the steps and they took their
SUPER graceful stroll down the stairs and were escorted to their chairs! hehe.
GUYS. I can’t make this stuff up…..lol. She’s super grandma.
It was a fun moment because the room was kept a surprise.
They had no idea what Grandma had up her sleeve!!

It was seriously hilarious and adorable how their dresses
swooshed when Nico took them over to their chair!
Sophia nailed that pose at the bottom of the steps.
She was born to do princess activities.

I’m pretty sure she was destined for the princess life too.
These girls were in awe of everything!

 MAGIC people. magic. ;)
Everyone got settled in and Grandma went around passing out
treats and gushing together over their dollies.

It was too much cuteness to handle if you really must know.
Val and I were bursting. lol. princess tea party-athomewithnatalie16

My mom threw another tea party over Thanksgiving break and it was ADORABLE.
The boy cousins wanted in on it this time… she knows how to throw a tea party. ;)
Looking forward to the next time we are gathered together and can clink our tea cups!
Pinkies out! ;)  One of the Christmas presents we gave my parents was a
photo album with the hard copies of these photos.
I had them printed up at Walgreens and Sophia stuffed
them into the album we got at Hobby Lobby.
Love these memories and thankful for such a thoughtful Mom!
I want to be her when I’m a Grandma.
Go have a tea party!
