Renew Your Heart + Weekend Recap

May 23, 2010

As mothers and women in the world it’s so easy for us to get caught up in the busy busy and we forget why exactly we are icing 100 cupcakes at 10 at night…or scrubbing every surface in the house covered with crayons. Love…we do this out of love! or atleast we should! sometimes we can try and “do it all” for the praise of others but that will not bring us real happiness..it will make all of our to-do lists superficial! I love cooking and decorating and planning parties down to every last detail…but i try and do all of these things with those i love in mind..… and to realize that these things are not what define me but are things i can do to put a smile on someone’s face or take care of someone i love. A great way to have this mindset while being a busy mama..is to stop for a minute and get grounded…read something bigger than yourself! soo….
I started a new blog feature….a weekly series of uplifting and inspirational true stories to renew your heart! To motivate you in your daily life and to encourage you in whatever task you have going on. I hope you enjoy it!

This man’s story is so amazing. It just shows how anything is possible with God and how he uses us just as we are.  As a wife and mother sometimes I try to do it all emphasizing too much on my abilities…i can do so much more when i put my faith and trust in God and ask him to work through me! Sometimes we get so down on ourselves and our shortcomings but God can give us the graces to handle whatever the day brings and use us in amazing ways.  It’s so encouraging and inspiring to see how this man has overcome such an obstacle and has let God work through him.
Life is such a miracle. we are all miracles.
When i was younger I went to camp and met a girl that was like him.. I would push her around in her wheelchair..although she could run faster than me!! She really helped me to see the joy in life and even though i only had that week of camp with her she made a lasting impression on me! Have you met someone in your life that like?? Next week i’ll be sharing about a young girl i knew in atlanta who changed my life forever and is now in heaven. She was an incredible young woman and i can’t wait to share her story.
map via my neighbor imanimama and she posted more about the garage sale.
I love this recipe. easy and delicious! roasted chicken with stuffing.
(The chicken was 93 cents per pound so i bought it up and froze some)
Made up the stuffing
covered the chicken with olive oil, salt, pepper, ground sage & garlic
fill the chicken with the stuffing
bake up and enjoy!
