Sienna’s First Day of Preschool + Cute Kid Quotes

September 6, 2013

She is my spunky sweet girl.
If Sienna was a movie character she would be a mix of boo from Monsters Inc. and
Vanellope von Schweetz from Wreck it Ralph.
She is feisty but has the sweetest heart. I can’t believe she is three.
ok MUST STOP. sobbing will commence if we keep
talking about her growing up. haha.

Ben and I watched the girls run around and play in the yard tonight…

We still can’t get over how big they are…
Some days it feels like they have grown up over night!
Sienna was READY for Preschool!!
She absolutely loved her first day. She was a little upset when we got to school that we had to “walk her to the door”…….she wanted to go by herself. (heaven help us.)
When we picked her up she ran to me and hugged me and said
“MOM!!…WE HAD SNACK!!”
Sounds like a good first day. ;)
Sienna is only there for a few hours in the morning, a couple days a week…
but it really is going to be a GAME CHANGER. ;)
It was fun having Micah time.. he wasn’t feeling good so I took him
for a walk… just him and me.. for 30 minutes! He was so relaxed and happy.
No one was jumping on him or stealing his bottle.. he was in the lap of luxury.
We even went and prayed together at church.. and
I might have grabbed an iced mocha for myself too ;)
I think the hours I only have one baby I’ll be able to focus & work more…
but the first day was a half day and I had a sick baby..so we were chill that day.

***For the chalkboard signs..I just used one I got earlier this year at Hobby Lobby..
and then added the text in via photoshop. :) I am loving this tradition.
I think a photo album is in the works!! ;)**

Also happening this week —— Micah had a horrible reaction to something
that we now think was triggered by the detergents we used.
It was always worse when he woke up from his nap/or night.
We saw 4 doctors.. 1 of them a Pediatric Dermatologist.
Who helped us figure out he was experiencing a combo of three things..
but pretty much a severe case of eczema. So we are going to try and change up detergents/soaps in the house. We have been using CeraVe lotion
and it’s worked wonders. I’m just so happy that he isn’t swollen anymore!
It was THE SADDEST thing.
But poor guy…now he has the sniffles and a low fever.
We were up all night with him last night.
He doesn’t want to nurse he just hums sadly on my shoulder. :(
I think teeth are coming. Thanks for all the prayers and
well wishes via Instagram and Facebook!
We’re hanging in there! Sick babies are so sad.

I want to remember all the funny/sweet little things they say.
So starting a new series: Kid Quotes.

Sophia: “mom, can I have five scoops since I’m FIVE?” (cookie dough.)
Me: “Nice try, that rule only applies to vegetables.”

Sienna: “mom, why you smiling”
Me: “cause I’m happy.”
Sienna: “Sophie’s happy….daddy’s happy..micah’s happy..I’m happy.”

Me: “we’re getting sophia her uniform.”
sienna: “I WANT A UNICORN!”

Sienna: “Fophie, your hair is pretty”
Sophia: “thanks..”
Sienna: “it looks like tangled.”
Sophia: “thanks, I know”

:::talking a bout micah’s rash::
” Micah has bad-idice.”
thank you doc mc sophie.

::night prayers::
sophia: ” I pray for all the kids that they go to the teacher.
that they don’t go into yellow or red and stay in green forever.”

No joke, after you posted the uniform/unicorn comment on Fbook(?), the next day Katherine and I were folding laundry…okay, I was folding laundry and folding Brett’s scrubs and we had almost an identical uniform/unicorn conversation!

Gigi [Pointing to a spot in the woods]: “There’s diarrhea back there!”
Me: “No, I think you mean there’s poison ivy back there-“
Gigi: “No, Mommy, there’s diarrhea there!”

For some reason, our three year old Gigi mixes up “poison ivy” and “diarrhea”. Don’t know why. We’ve tried explaining that they are two very different things. As long as it keeps her from wandering off into the woods!

Gorgeous kiddos!!! Got to love their little conversations! =) Hope you get a regimen that works for little Micah! Bless his little heart! My little miss who is going to be 4 had a severe case of environmentally triggered eczema and thankfully we have things down pat now with her. No flare-ups in about a year! woop woop!
