Peanut Blossom Cookies – my childhood cookie.

February 26, 2010

oh mama…you hooked me on these. every major holiday we made these…and now that i am grown and have my very own mixer and am a mama of my own…..i make them way too often when my baby goes to bed. haha. but….they are a crowd pleaser so get baking and SHARE THE SWEETS!

my mom passed on the recipe….
via a scan of her index card in a plastic sheet. haha..

**my husband just called on his way home from work…he is so cute. that’s all i have to say. he’s been all sweetie sweetie lately..which every pregnant lady needs. haha.**

Ingredients
1 3/4 cup Flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbs milk
48 Hershey Kisses (or chocolate of your choice!)

The best part of this recipe…..all you do is throw the ingredients in all together at once. except the chocolates.

Mix on lowest speed until dough forms.

yum.

roll balls in sugary goodness.

place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375 for 8 minutes…..now..chocolate time…

i’ll have a bowl of chocolate please!
we didn’t have any hershey kisses.. but we did have plenty of hershey bars left over from a youth group bonfire (smore supplies) perk of husband being a youth minister. :)

remove from oven and press a candy into the center of each cookie.
return to oven and cook 2 minutes longer.

i started off just putting the whole piece of chocolate on the cookie..but then i started breaking them in half.
i love these cookies. they are cute & yummy.

How do you and your family stay healthy looking with all the desserts you make? Do you exercise a lot, or fast metabolisms? I can’t seem to even eat one cookie without packing out. Still, I love your blog. Keep the yummy food recipes coming. I love looking, even though I can’t touch.

    Yours Truly,

    Evalynn “the sexy” jk!
