Simple Homemade bread

February 24, 2010

I couldn’t believe how
Suppperrr Simple this recipe was!!
I went to bed last night after making this feeling like a Baking Rockstar! i seriously couldn’t sleep because i was like wow…i made bread…i bet i could make this..and this.. and yeah. i had to tell myself to stop thinking so i could sleep. haha. (if you only knew my battle with active dry yeast you would understand my excitement.)

Bread Machine not required! I even messed up the recipe…threw the already kneeded dough back in and added the remaining ingredients..and it still turned out great!! thats my kind of recipe! haha.

good thing my hubby likes my tooshy because i’m not encouraging it to get smaller thats for sure. haha. but this recipe is delish..simple..and homemade wonderfulness.

(don’t make fun of my bread pan…..i only have one. hehe.)

as soon as i pulled it out of the oven..i wrapped them in foil to keep the moisture in soften them up. (what my mom always did with banana bread.) but not before i sliced off a peice…toasted it..buttered it..and threw some cinnamon sugar on it!
melted in my mouth..yum.

For lunch today i made up a simple egg salad sandwich.
it was almost too pretty to eat. almost. i snarfed it down.

Here’s the bread recipe…from the lovely Christie at These are a Few of My Favorite Things.

enjoy! and don’t forget to enter in my Giveaway!! Ends tonight at midnight!

I am so glad that someone’s rear end will be growing, too. Mine has definitely increased since I started baking this bread. Thanks for the link and the laugh!

Looks delish. I LOVE bread and have been wanting to make some, but thought i needed a bread machine. someone told me to look for one at the thrift stores, but i haven’t found one yet. luckily your recipe doesn’t need one!

looks great + thanks for the tips. I saw an article on making bread in martha stewart AND was given a starter for amish friendship bread, so bread making is definitely in my near future!
