snow snow go away…recipes to help you cope.

February 23, 2010

tired of this…

missing this…

I woke up this morning and heard birds tweeting..so i kept my eyes closed and pictured that it was warm and sunny out. haha. i’m not even joking. but then reality set in. I woke up..got ready fast and we ran over to church in the freezing cold. (for lent we are trying to go to church daily..tough but very rewarding. i would wake up with more of a spring in my step if i knew i wasn’t going to walk out into the billowing cold!!!

but oh well..soon enough right?? and until then…we can stay inside and cook/bake up some fresh recipes that make us feel like it’s summery outside!

i don’t know about you but i’m so visual right now when it comes to food! i have to see what i’m gonna eat! i’m blaming it on the pregnancy..haha. plus it always is motivating when you find recipes that are already taste-bud approved! i came across these recipes and they sounded delicious and summery.

Bourbon Peach Hand Pies

Shish Kabob with Easy Marinade

Hot and Sweet Drumsticks

who needs spring and summer when you have sweets! : ) the pies, trifle and brownie cup are just making my mouth water. they look so fab. i want one of each right now. please. seriously, though, there’s just something about warm sunshine that makes everyday that much sweeter.

I am so thankful I don’t live in a freezing cold place BUT we did get snow this year… I am SOOOOOO ready for spring! I totally just cleaned out Carson’s closet today and filled it with cute and fun spring dresses! (both May babies both girls, get to use ALL the same stuff!) Shopped for bathing suits online tonight and talked to my neighbor today about beach trips this summer…I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!! I am totally with you!

I’m so with you on the snow, I wish it would politely leave. Your recipes look wonderful and I can’t wait to try the cupcake!
Try to stay warm, I hear the great NE has another storm on the way so I will bundle up for now and dream of sunny days.

Looking at all that snow makes me thankfull that I live in Southern California where we just don’t see any of that. It’s been in th 80’s recently, but it’s supposed to be cold and wet today. So these recipes might come in handy. They look soooo good!

I feel like the rest of the country is experiencing what we went though last year. I know exactly how you feel. I was stuck in my house for 3 weeks! I hope it will melt away into summer for you! Those peach pies are making me hungry!
