Test Driving the Chevy Traverse

September 10, 2014

Earlier this month we were given the opportunity, through Chevrolet, to test drive their Chevy Traverse 1LT for a week! This test drive couldn’t have come at a better time! We were looking for a different vehicle for our family and had heard great things about the Chevy Traverse. THEBUSYBUDGETINGMAMA-CHEVY1

We spend a lot of time in our car. We run errands in it, we sing and have dance parties in it, we fill it up with kids and go off on adventures in it. We need a car we can load up! I like to do home and DIY projects and a lot of times I run out of space in our current car. When it comes to space for a kid… or furniture in a box… a kid usually wins. But I was super excited to not have to choose between the two, because the Chevy Traverse has seating for up to 8 passengers in the LS and 1LT models, and it’s available on the 2LT. It has the largest maximum cargo room in its class! The added room meant that the kids were able to be comfortable and have fun in the car! Just look at how happy they were to arrive at our destinations!

When we got the car I was like a kid on Christmas morning! I was so excited to HAVE to drive it around a lot during our busy week. It was shining in front of our house. And the interior was just as pretty! It has this rich and refined feeling! Which I’ll take. haha. I don’t mind feeling rich and refined while driving my wild things around. ;) THEBUSYBUDGETINGMAMA-CHEVY9

I loved that it had Bluetooth® integration* so I could stay connected and be hands-free. It has awesome available features like the rear-seat entertainment center (kiddos pumped about that one) and heated and cooled front seats. The Chevy Traverse made running our errands for the day so much more fun!

With spending so much time in the car, you want to make sure it’s safe! The Chevy Traverse has a NHTSA 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for safety** and an available industry-first Front Center Air Bag***. Something that can put your mind at ease. With the space and the safety it’s an ideal family vehicle. The available features like the Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning, all work together to help keep your family safe. And because my husband always wants to know….It has up to a 520-mile highway range**** on one tank of gas!

Check out our video of when it first arrived!

Are you in the market for a new care like we are?? Be sure to check out our video and our upcoming post to see what we thought about it! We can’t wait to share all the fun we had during our week with the Chevy Traverse!

*Go to gmtotalconnect.com to find out which phones are compatible with the vehicle.

**Government 5-Star Safety Ratings are part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA’s) New Car Assessment Program (www.SaferCar.gov).

***Always use safety belts and child restraints. Children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat in the appropriate child restraint. See the Owner’s Manual for more information.

****Based on EPA-estimated 24 MPG highway for FWD models and fuel tank capacity. Your range may be less.
