2023 Halloween Home Tour

October 16, 2023

If you have kids and want to be fun for the holidays, but also want simple so you don’t add to the chaos….you are like me! Oh and also I have no time so everything has to be easy to do. :) Welcome to our home for Halloween! When it comes to home, Holiday fun and more…I’m here to help!

INSTAGRAM REEL: 2023 HALLOWEEN HOME TOUR
I wanted to share a quick walk through of how I decorated our main floor for Halloween! I loved adding some festive touches that make it fun for the kids! The bats always make it feel like Halloween is officially here! Hopefully you get inspired with these easy holiday touches. But first things first- because I get asked:
PAINT COLOR- Basalt Powder by Sherwin Williams. OK now that that’s out of the way..lets do the Halloween home tour!

I love how cozy and festive this space feels. We have a big family (6 kids) and this is where everyone wants to hang out!
This is our third Halloween in our home it and honestly felt so nice opening up the bins of decor and putting stuff up where we put it last year. Felt like home!
I couldn’t resist adding a few fun new pieces from Home Goods this year though… but mostly everything we already had. I’ll link all that I can or alternatives.

Our foyer table got some Halloween touches. When Halloween is over, I just take down the bats and leave the pumpkins and fall foliage! (Ps. Our entry table is from Hobby Lobby)

The main things that make it REALLY feel like Halloween for my kids…are the bats! I don’t use the adhesive dots that any of these come with. I prefer to use Target brand’s shipping tape. It’s worth it to not stress over any wall damage happening. I’ll let you know if I find another option but for now that’s what I use for parties and holidays and it always works out.

FAMILY ROOM
For the fireplace, I used a bunch of these Amazon bats– and then hung up some hanging bats from Target that aren’t available anymore. I cut them to the lengths I wanted. Here is a similar option: Amazon hanging bats
The general idea is to have some floating and some on wall – to give it a flying effect my kids love! You could easily string up some of the single bats..they are a good size!

The little ghosts on this shelf made such a cute little grouping! The top right ghost is from Michael’s. The little one next to it is from Walmart and the bottom one is from Target.
I kept the shelf decor styling very simple with neutral tones. Sometimes Holiday decor can make things feel cluttered or busy and trust me I have enough of that going with 6 kids haha. So I want to be festive but keep things calming.  SHOP THE SHELF

This chair honestly gets moved around so much. It usually is in the sunroom, and we had the 2 sunroom chairs in here, but we had a party and it got moved here and it’s just sooo comfy that I don’t want to move it back. Everyone loves to plop down in it!

Within this past year we updated our shelves in the family room. They used to be the builder grade white shelves. I love the warmth the wood tones add to the space and the shiplap in the back just gives it a little texture! Everything looks prettier on the shelves now.

KITCHEN
The must haves for our Halloween decor in the kitchen: Hanging Bats and googly eyes on fridge! Once we have that up, we are ready for all the fall treat making and the chili and cornbread and the Carmel apples! So grateful for this space to be our backdrop for family fun. I remember when we were building our home and I pictured the holiday moments that I hoped would happen here!

I will always love how this wreath looks in our kitchen! I don’t like a lot of orange but this is the perfect fall colored wreath.

Our sunroom connects to our kitchen and we always add a cluster of bats over there! The kids love it and it just takes 5 minutes!
SHOP THE SUNROOM

They sell these googly eyes at Michaels- best purchase. I stick them up with blue scotch tape and have never had an issue with them on the fridge. The kids LOVE this and it just makes it a fun silly feel during Halloween. Which is our vibe… Less spooky more silly! SHOP THIS PHOTO.

I got this tray for our mugs at Home Goods. They typically have different versions of this all year long. I like that it’s a shape that can fit flush against the wall. The mugs are just too dang cute to be tucked away in a cabinet!! I got these at Target but I wasn’t able to find a link for them. Any cute Halloween mugs would do!

Our kitchen island stools are perfect all year long…I just love their warm brown color and they are super comfy. I remember sitting at a friends’ house and saying I NEED THESE! They are also great if you have wiggly children…they NEVER TIP!

Thanks for stopping by! I’m always sharing more of our home and holiday things over on Instagram! @athomewithnatalie
