Book + Craft Fun: Squirrel Foot Prints

October 11, 2018

Thank you to Disney Book Group for sponsoring today’s post and craft fun!
We are fans of reading and crafting over here! It’s always fun to bring a book to life and
we did just that with our newest Mo Willems title, ‘Unlimited Squirrels: I Lost My Tooth!’
This book was extra perfect for our Micah man because he JUST lost his FIRST tooth!
Today we are sharing with you guys a craft that is perfect for Fall fun

and a peek inside this new favorite book!

This craft is not for the ticklish. Haha! Well, just kidding. It is!
But you’ll get a good laugh out of it.
We created footprint squirrels using a few basic craft supplies we already had!

SUPPLIES:
Brown Craft Paint
Paint Brush
Black Sharpie
White Cardstock Paper
Brown Craft Foam. (Or anything to cut into an acorn or leaf shape!)
Scissors
Glue Stick

STEPS:
Paint your child’s foot. Giggles and wiggles expected.
Press foot down on paper and lift straight up to leave a clean print.
Use paintbrush to add on the tail, hands and ears!
It will dry fairly quickly and then use a black sharpie to add the eyes and mouth.
Add your acorn or leaf and you are all done!

This craft is the perfect fall fun for your little ones – gift it or hang it in your home!
We are going to write “I’m nuts about you” and deliver to their Grandparents!
Just a random little we love you project.

Want to see inside this new book?? It was just released into stores on October 2nd.
It’s the first title in the new Mo Willems series, Unlimited Squirrels, and is addressing a range
of physical, emotional and social development markers. I love books that engage children but
are also providing me, as a mama, with humorous and relatable conversation starters.
We are obsessed with all things Mo Willems so of course had to add this book to our collection!
