Girls’ Surprise Bedroom Makeover!

December 19, 2018

I am so bad at keeping secrets!! I schemed with Justice to do
something really fun for my big girls and it was SO HARD not to tell them!
We teamed up to surprise them with a bedroom makeover!
Today we are sharing the full video of the experience…
Shopping, Setting up and the Big Reveal!
Squeals of joy were involved. ;)

Sophia (10) and Sienna (8) help so much as the big sisters of the crew.
I just adore them and how they love their family so I was excited to do this for them!
Since moving back to Charlotte, their shared room has needed a little strategizing (it’s smaller)
and the girls are older now and needing different things (both for fun and function!)
I got some special details from Justice that I knew they would love – all the sequins! haha.
We got loft beds at IKEA as the new bones of the room and where we will put their desks.

I couldn’t wait to scoot them off to school so we could get to work decorating
and making each of their personalities shine in the space!
The best part was while I was shopping at Justice, everything but
one thing I got was marked 40-50% off! WOOHOO! Shop the sales mamas!
I’ll share sources and details on the room below – A few special touches, strategic furniture
and some glowing light curtains and the room was FABULOUS! ;)

Here’s some photos of the space and a
little rundown on where things are from!
If I miss anything just comment or message me! :)
Their toy storage is a piece from IKEA (KALLAX) with 13″ storage bins from Target.

The gallery wall was fun to put together! I had about 30 minutes and frantically put
up what I had gathered from our house – besides the Justice Flip Sequin Pin Board that I got the day before!
Sophia had her eye on that and it was the perfect new detail for this wall.
I love walking by pretty spots in a room- it helps when you look and see all
of the laundry on the floor or other mess haha.
I love to look at my people and things that hold onto special memories.
So throw it up- even if it’s not perfect or brand new!
I used an IKEA shelf for some of their books. (we get all our books here.)
The frames are mostly IKEA and the art/canvas are Hobby Lobby.
The pink sparkly container was Target Bargain bins.

The most important update to the room was the bed situation!
They had bunk beds before… and it took up a lot of space.
They’ve been asking for Loft beds for years, and it finally just made sense in this room.
They needed more floor space! They are from IKEA and the bedding we already had, from Target.
Their pillows and blanket are Justice and Target.
(Unicorn Pillow. Fox Pillow. Flip Sequence Blanket.)
The doll changing station was from Santa but I spotted one on Amazon as well!
Their desks and shelves over them are IKEA.
The makeup caddy came as one piece and is from Justice.
Their lamps are from Justice and were a favorite in the room!
The wall piece holding her little treasures… was something I found at Goodwill years ago!
I think it’s for nail polish or spices? Honestly no clue but it was wood
and I painted it with this exact purpose in mind!
The frame with strung up photos is from Michaels and I made it for her
First Communion party a couple years ago!
The sparkly lights on their loft beds are from Walmart and are battery operated.
Sophia’s dollhouse DIY is an oldie but goodie post.
Stuffed animal basket and Panda head are both from Target.
(Similar to panda head.. the unicorn we have the in Playroom!)

The pink rug is from Target and I saw it marked down and GRABBED IT.
I’ve been looking for a soft pink rug and it fit the bill.
It is SO SOFT. I just want to lay on it. and I might have. haha.
Their rose gold tree is from Walmart and I want to steal it and put it in my room.

The glowing lights curtains are from Justice and if you get
ANYTHING to do a room update… get them!
They are so fun and transform the place.

I hope that you enjoyed the room tour! I’m so thankful for Justice
teaming up to help make this surprise happen for the girls!
They were blown away and gave me the best reaction.
Love them so much and that they have this special space
to make lots of sisterly memories in together!

If you are planning a girl room makeover or wanting to update it…
I hope this room tour was helpful!
ps. Their clothes are in the closet (cubbies and hanging area –
I’ll share that set up another time!)
