Halloween PlayDough Fun!

October 9, 2019

We love playdough in our house! It’s an activity that all of my kids
get into and I love organizing things for them to enjoy together!
This is our go-to playdough recipe and we turned it into a fun Halloween Activity with
some green food coloring and spooky supplies!
I grabbed some googley eye rings, plastic spiders, vampire teeth and some cute ghost cookie cutters.
Set up your own little halloween play dough fun and get playing!

PLAY DOUGH RECIPE:

2 Cups Flour
4 TB Cream of Tartar
1 Cup Salt
3 TB Vegetable Oil
2 Cups Water
Green Food Coloring Gel (Walmart)

RECIPE:
1. Combine the dry ingredients (flour, cream of tartar, spices and salt) in your pot.
2. Add the wet ingredients (water, food coloring and vegetable oil)
3. Stir over medium heat until it starts forming a play dough consistency.
4. Remove from heat and allow to cool…I just toss it onto a cutting board for this part.
5. Once it’s cooled a bit just knead it together for a while to get the right consistency and color.
Time to play!

The first time we played with it we did a “make your own monster” set up.
Then another day that week we pulled it back out for the littles and they did the ghost cookie cutters.
Here’s Micah Man’s monster! The teeth kind of creep me out. haha.

Asher was proud of his monster guy too!

This is a great Halloween activity for the kiddos that can get you guys into the mood!
Light that pumpkin candle or hey even better throw some nutmeg into the playdough and it’ll smell like fall!

Wanting another playdough activity? We’ve made this recipe up a few times with
some tweaks (different spices or supplies or conditioners!) and it always turns out awesome!
Pumpkin Play Dough! This one smells so yummy.

Love this idea! I’ve been wanting to try making my own playdough and I think you’ve finally inspired me to do so!! I’ve had it with the store bought stuff. I love the idea of bringing in some themed supplies to switch things up a bit and know my kids would love this…Thanks!
