Sienna’s First Communion Day- VLOG/Photos

April 27, 2018

This past weekend we celebrated our Sienna making her First Communion!
Family came into town from Charlotte and Atlanta for this special day!
Today I’m sharing the video and photos of the fun.
Maybe you have a little one about to make their First Communion…
or have a Baptism coming up! Happy to share how we celebrate and some of the
easy party details we do to make the day even more special!

I’m so proud of the little lady Sienna is growing into.
She has such a pure heart and love for Jesus.
I hope she always wants to have this relationship with Him
and realizes how special she is in His eyes!

Thankful for the family who was able to travel in for the big day!
It meant so much to Sienna.

(This is from the next day-but finally got a group photo!)

I always like to create a treat table for Birthdays and this is WAY MORE important so we go all out.
I asked Sienna what she wanted and this is what we came up with!
I’m so glad she mentioned fondu- that was delicious! haha.
Our friend had the pot and it was such a fun detail-everyone loved it.
The night before I blew up some Walmart balloons and taped them to the ceiling with curling ribbon.
(They are still there..lol.) I liked that I could have that part totally done and ready to go…
because with hosting 20 people in our house… I didn’t have much time for
decorating when everyone was awake! They gave a good bang for the buck too!
It was all very basic – pre made treats but when you put them all together
on lace and white dishes they look sparkly and special!
The gold cups were from Target and had white cheddar popcorn in them.
My mom made her heart and cross sugar cookies and it all came together in a snap!

I might have dropped the cookie cake…
but the lid stayed on- it survived! haha.

At our Church they have the First Communion Mass in the evening…
so her party time was after lunch!
She wore Sophia’s white party dress but accessorized it with this jacket we found at Old Navy on clearance.
SO SIENNA.
She’s worn it every day since.
Glad it’s a little roomy because she’s gonna live in that thing for a while. ;)

On the table I framed her Baptism photo and a favorite photo of her.
I love doing this because then we have a fresh framed/photo to enjoy
and it will always remind us of her First Communion!
I did this with Sophia’s and she has them in her room.
The main framed verse is from Hobby Lobby. We used it for Sophia’s as well and I just pulled it down off the wall.
(It’s usually hanging in our family room.)
The white frame is from Marshalls.
The sparkly frame is from Michael’s. again. SO SIENNA. ;)

We looked all over for the perfect fluffy dress for our Sienna. (that was reasonably priced. lol)
Guess where we found hers??
Burlington for $35 bucks!!!!
It was the last store of the day and I said it was worth a shot –
We’ve seen some great dresses there before for a steal.
She tried it on and LOVED IT. It passed the twirl test and had sparkles on it.
I looked at the price tag and said YUP. Les go. haha.
Her shoes were from JcPenny and tights from Target.
The veil was the same veil that Sophia wore for her First Communion.
It’s a combination of two veils from Dillards.
My mom took the tiara from one and the veil from another and attached them. gorgeous!
I remember so clearly my First Communion Day and how special it felt.
I could tell Sienna was loving her day too which made my heart so happy.

Daddy’s girl. The way she looked up at him. oh mercy…
I flash forwarded to her wedding day.
YES. I WENT THERE. haha.
But I just can’t believe we are already here… time goes by so quickly with these kids!
I feel like we just brought her home from the hospital with all that spiky dark hair!

Love Sienna so much and hope that we can set an example for her how
her faith is important and can be lived out in her every day!
Happy First Communion Sienna!
