Why I Blog + “Start a Blog!” Pep-Talk VLOG

July 10, 2013

When Mandy of House of Rose, was in town last month for a visit…
We talked a lot about how blogging has impacted our lives…
the amazing community we’ve gained…
the experiences that have impacted us personally!
and why we keep doing it!

Do you have a blog?
Why do you blog??
Maybe some of my reasons will motivate
you to start your own blog!
I blog to have a place to share my creative side.
I love being able to share our projects and connect with
others by giving them ideas for creative play…
or by helping them add DIY details to the celebrations in their lives!
(All of these can be found on My Popular Pages)
I blog to celebrate motherhood.
relatable motherhood. :) I think it’s important for us to lift each other up…
and be joyful in our roles as mothers but also honest in how hard it can be at times!
Sometimes knowing you aren’t alone on those hard days can give you the
boost you need to power through till bed time ;)
I love the community of moms that I’m connected with through my blog.

I celebrate the days my kids are fed and clothed(sort of).
I blog to connect with other moms.
Moms going through the same things as me!
I love to share my experiences as a mother..
the amazing, along with the exhausting. ;)
(All of these can be found on My Popular Pages)

I blog to share my faith.
At first I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to put out there about my faith.
But this past year..I really felt that if I was going to share who I am on my blog…
then I should share more of my Catholic faith!
It’s a big part of my life. We are a ministry family!
I’ve found a lot of my readers connect with me even more for being
authentic and sharing posts on my relationship with God.
I try not to be just a good person, but a holy woman!
I want my girls to see that they can be “normal” and live a faith filled life!
So I touch on topics relating to God and my faith throughout my blog.

 I blog to remember where
we’ve come from!
This is my baby book.
My blog is going to be the way my children’s children can connect with me.
Know exactly how I was feeling and thinking and what I was experiencing!
My girls LOVE to look back on past posts..sometimes I’ll pull up
an old one to show ben.. Look how little sophia was!!! time flies.
I blog for the community!
I have realized that with blogging, just like real life, the effort and time you
put into connecting and forming relationships can really pay off!
So blessed with the friendships I have made in the blogging world.
Maybe you haven’t started a blog yet…
but it’s been on your heart!…..

Mandy and I created a little Pep Talk Video for you!
And to offer some resources to get you on your way!
Maybe you want info on how to work with brands and create a media kit – check my old one out!
Or maybe you want to know where to host your blog! I use bluehost and love it.

Here’s some resources for those of you
wanting to make your blog happen!
GO FOR IT!
You will be amazed at how much you’ll love it
and what you get out of it.

Mandy, of House of Rose, and I are linking up together today!
Check out her post today for even more of a kick start to blogging!

Love both of your blogs! Do you know if there is a way to make a blog private versus a public site for anyone to view? I prefer to only share my photos with family and close friends. Thanks!!

Haha you girls are too cute! I really enjoyed watching your video about blogging. I’ve been in a blogging break since having my second child, I’ve been wanting to return to blogging and your video has helped me realize why. Plus, if you two can blog with three children I can surely blog with two ;)
