Family Beach Trip: The King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort- St. Simons Island, Georgia

September 17, 2020

I came across The King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort on Instagram and immediately fell in love! We were so excited when they invited us to check out everything they have to offer a family like ours! Today I wanted to chat a little more about our experience, but be warned, you are going to want to book your trip immediately once you see the photos! It is so gorgeous and the perfect set up for families. (You can check out my Instagram highlights to see our WHOLE TRIP via video as well!!)
The whole team is amazing at the Resort. We were so grateful for this hosted trip…but then THRILLED that they wanted to giveaway a vacation there to one of my followers on Instagram. It’s such a great destination for families! Excited to re-live this trip with you guys via the post today. :) Take me back!!

This trip was a special one… both of our girls’ birthdays are in August so we decided we would make this a special birthday trip for them! With six kids… it’s important to set aside special time with the kids. Our three big boys had “cousin camp” with my brothers’ families in Atlanta while Ben and I took the girls, and of course baby Chase, on the beach trip! This was such a great time to really focus in on the girls and be able to soak up special moments with just them! They are growing up so fast- we suddenly have a 10 and 12 year old!!

The whole time we were there I was thinking how King and Prince Resort would be the perfect set up for a family reunion! We’ve done a beach reunion on my dad’s side of the family years ago and it was a blast. I’ve been wanting to plan one with my parents + siblings and all our kids. (there’s 20 grandkids!!) King and Prince makes it so easy to have that fun beach experience but without the stress/hassle of getting to the beach and pool areas with your crew. (PLUS the rooms can accommodate a whole crew.)

OUR ACCOMMODATIONS
We stayed in a 2 Bedroom Oceanfront Villa. (It also had a pull out sofa in the family room if needed.) But this was a great set up for us…the girls took one room and bathroom.. and Ben and I took the other room and bathroom with the baby. It had a full kitchen, breakfast table area, laundry and family room space! The balcony was so nice to be able to watch the sunrise on! Chase woke up early while we were there… and I just snuggled him up out there and listened to the ocean – it was a dream!
I loved that we had the full kitchen because we could easily prep any meals we wanted there… or store leftovers in the fridge. One night we popped popcorn and hung out in the family room space. We brought some favorite board games but ended up being so exhausted from all the pool and ocean fun by the evening. :)
(If you check out my King + Prince Highlights Tab over on Instagram, you can see a full walk through of our room!)

ECHO
The Resort has a restaurant on site that is OUT OF THIS WORLD! ECHO is set up where you can eat outside or inside. We ended up going there once for breakfast and once for dinner. The rest of the meals we ate off of the resort property (such a cute area to explore!) OR we ordered food by the pool. (They have a little cafe set up by the pool.) Everything we got was delicious! Just looking at these photos from our trip made me so hungry haha.

It’s seriously such a pretty location!
After dinner we walked around and, with the breeze, it felt fantastic. Like we were living in a sound machine..so relaxing haha.
There are swings and a fire pit area…lots of cute spaces to just hang out.

POOL
There are multiple pools on the grounds…and even shallow ones perfect for little ones! Hot tubs too.
That was something that I loved about the set up…there really was something for every age to enjoy.
It was so relaxing sitting under the shaded gazebos, in their comfy chairs and sofas, watching the girls and Ben swim while I nursed Chase. Chase loved the pool too- he’s our water baby! We splashed around most mornings before lunch time! We went in August and the weather was great. Not too hot, but felt good to cool down in the pool. It really officially feels like a vacation when you order drinks and a yummy lunch to eat by the pool! ;)

OCEAN
One of the best parts about the resort was how easy it was to access the ocean. We were able to even set up our tent…leave it there and then come back to it after a little pool break!
We only had three of the kids but if we had all 6…It would have made a huge difference to have a set up like this to get from the ocean and pool. Anything to help take some stress and juggling away to make it feel more like a vacation, right!? This was my first time in St. Simons Island, Georgia…but I loved how the sand felt – so soft and not rocky at all.

MORNING WALK ON THE BEACH
One morning the baby woke up early with me and the girls said to wake them up to see the sunset– we got dressed real quick and walked the beach as the sunrise came. It was so special. Ben was happy to get a little more sleep since he took baby duty in the middle of the night! ;) These moments, with my girls, I’ll never forget. They are growing up so fast and this trip was a great way to slow down for a bit and really make some great memories together. So grateful they have each other and for their sweet friendship. I know these photos are going to be so fun to look back on as they get older.

One of the nights we were there…we planned a little sister photo shoot! I just used my phone’s camera but the photos turned out so great!
The girls each brought a dress that they felt pretty in…and they did their hair and makeup before we went to dinner at ECHO.
I snapped a photo as we got ready because I wanted to remember that moment!
Ben held the baby while the girls and I walked the beach, snapping photos! I love how they turned out and really captured the girls’ personalities at this age.
My plan is to make a photo book of this trip for each of them for Christmas!
(This Resort would be the perfect location for special photos- senior pictures…engagement shoot… an anniversary- so pretty!)

I hope you enjoyed learning more about the King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort! It was such a great trip and we can’t wait to go back!
