Family Fun at Crown Reef Beach Resort and Water Park in Myrtle Beach!

August 17, 2020

Last month we went to Crown Reef Beach Resort and Water Park in Myrtle Beach and it was such a great family trip! With five kids, spanning ages 12 to a baby, it was awesome finding a place that had something for everyone to enjoy! (Chase is down for pretty much anything ;) It was a great set up for the kids and we can’t wait to go back!
Pretty impressive attempt at smiling into the sun, family!

We had such great family time at the Crown Reef. The kids loved it! Besides the beach right out the door…There were water slides, a lazy river, multiple pools and a fun water playground. Hunter loved his little 1 ft pool next to the big kid one…Once we finally convinced him there were no sharks in it. haha.
So impressed with how the Resort was handling things in this strange season- we had plenty of space to enjoy outside as a family and then wore masks when in elevators or when Ben would go inside to order food.

ACCOMODATIONS:
We stayed in a two bedroom Oceanfront Suite.
The front room had two queens and Ben and the boys slept there. The back room had a pull out sofa bed for the girls. and I had the Murphy bed with Chase in his little bouncer/chair we brought for him. (you can prop it back to sleep in comfy.) It was on this trip that he slept the longest EVER. 5 straight hours. I woke up to check on him haha.
The room had a bathroom and full kitchen! It came in handy when we ate a couple meals in there – There was a table in the back room where everyone could set up for pizza! (Ps. We ordered from Ultimate California Pizza and it was SO GOOD.)
Staying right on the water made it easy for the boys to take afternoon naps before we headed back out for more fun. We had an oceanfront room so when everyone else would fall asleep in the room at night, I could sit on the balcony and watch/listen to the ocean and chat with my big girls. One night Ben took the girls to get dessert by the pool! Another night the three of us girls + Chase walked the beach as the sun set. Love the conversations and moments we can share in this stage with them!

The Boardwalk and Broadway on the Beach are just short drives away – Great areas for restaurants, shops and activities!
We did the SkyWheel and we quickly realized that our Asher was the daredevil of the family. He was loving it! The rest of us cheered as we got back on the ground. haha. It was pretty cool though seeing the ocean from up high – such a gorgeous scene!

I loved being able to do both the beach and pools. They have a bunch of different pools for the big kids to the little ones. All of the kids loved the lazy river and Ben and I took turns going on it with them! Not sooo relaxing when your 7 yr old is splashing you but we were laughing hehe. It was pretty special seeing the kids smiles – I have vivid memories of the fun summer vacations my family took when I was little. Those smiles and memories are so worth the juggling to take a family vacation! The set up though can really make or break a trip with kids. I loved how easy it was for us to go from room to pool to beach. That’s important when you have your hands full with littles.

The Resort is in an area of Myrtle with a lot of things to do—about one million put put places. haha. Great breakfast places and of course DUCK DONUTS. We ate a few meals outside under the gazebo…Hunter even fell asleep in his stroller there because of how relaxing the breeze was there! Ben would go inside the cafe to order food (Wearing a mask) and then they brought it out to us! It was a great set up for families.

Thank you to Crown Reef for hosting us- our family is grateful and we can’t wait to come back!
Hopefully with no need for masks that time!
