Sophia’s First Day of Kindergarten + Free Smart Cookie Print

August 27, 2013

Sophia started full day Kindergarten this week!
I have loved seeing everyone post Instagram shots of their kids’ first days…
I can’t believe we are already HERE! We were so excited for her and
not as nervous because Sophia was SO EXCITED.
We had a count down going on the whole week before.
The butterflies in my stomache started the moment we turned into the
folder aisle in target’s back to school section.
AHHHH!!! I was so happy and kinda wanting to throw up all at the same time.
It was a mix of THIS IS SO FUN and
OH MY GOSH HOW IS THIS HAPPENING ALREADY?!…..
I took her on a mommy date to pick out her school supplies. Her joy was contagious.
She was so pumped. And only had a minor melt down when trying
on clothes in the dressing room.
It’s ok girl..Sometimes I feel like crying in the dressing room too. lol.
She was loving the “fashion glasses” in the big girls’ section…
Her special treat were the pink ones. She wore them the rest of the day…….
even as they kept falling down her nose..ridiculous. haha.
The first day!!
This is the moment my heart almost burst..
and if we weren’t running late I might have cried. ;)
I’m so excited for the new adventures and experiences she’ll have at school!
She may be growing up but she is still little!!
She’s been talking about college all week long.
don’t rush me girl!! ;)
I’m pretty proud of myself for not weeping at drop off lol.
I only teared up as she waved bye to me until I was out of sight.
Smiling the whole time! I peeked my head back in where she couldn’t
see me and she was still smiling. Such a sweetheart!

Earlier this week, when I told sophia I had to run and get Sophia a uniform,
Sienna(3) cheered “MOM! I want to get a UNICORN too!!”…..
bahaha.

Ben is officially dad of the year for walking in and picking up Sophia
with a bouquet of flowers in hand. someone felt special. :)

I was so excited to hear all about her day.
She told me she learned a prayer.. and that they asked what everyone’s favorite color was.
She said she was going to say pink but then everyone said pink,
then she was going to say green but everyone said green,
so she changed it to orange. haha. rebel.
It was fun opening up her folder and seeing what’s inside from her day…
she was so proud to show us! and only freaked out a little
when little sister sienna touched it. of course. ;)
Ready for another fun day at school!
To celebrate our sweeties in school. (home or away..)
I made up a fun print you can print down to the size you want,
frame and put out on the table with some yummy cookies for
the kids when they get home from school!

Adorable! I am so happy she had a great first day. My oldest was the same! Just so excited to start school there was no time to shed a tear (and no need)it looks like she will do well. We still haven’t started back. Can you believe it?? Not until after Labor day. I have a kindergartner to send off this year too…and it will just be me and my lonely three year old at home. Sending her off in a couple of years? Then it will hit me!

She looks so grown up! I think I’ll probably fall apart when Connor goes next year. I don’t even want to think about it– eek! Hope you guys are having a wonderful week. Talk to you soon!
