Cricut EasyPress 3 Project – Personalized Kid Aprons

April 28, 2022

I was feeling a little crafty this week and decided to make up something fun for the little boys who love to play in their play kitchen space together! They are all about their names and letters right now…so I thought, let’s make some personalized kid aprons with my Cricut EasyPress 3! My big kids loved them so much that they have requested their own size aprons too. ;) In today’s post I wanted to show you just how easy it is to create with the Cricut EasyPress 3. I hope you find it helpful! Let’s go!

PS. You can watch a reel I made of this project here:

OK! First off, let’s chat the supplies!
I have a Cricut Maker and LOVE IT. I use it for everything from vinyl projects to stickers to cupcake toppers! For years I wanted to get one and this past year I finally did…and it was the best decision. I feel the same way now about my Cricut EasyPress 3. My favorite part is how easy the Cricut heat app makes it to get your settings right for any heat transfer project! It’s connected with bluetooth and the app guides you through any project you take on. You just plug in the material you are using and it gives you the exact heat and times to use. It completely takes the guess work out of it.

SUPPLIES:
Cricut Maker
Cricut EasyPress 3
Black Smart Iron-On Vinyl
Kid Aprons
Towel (or a Cricut EasyPress mat. either works!)

One of these days I need to do a proper office/craft room tour- we’ve changed it up so much since my last blog post on it.
I got these aprons at Michaels. Amazon has a bunch of cute blanks you can use for vinyl projects too!
I measured the top area to figure out how large I wanted my design. 4 inches was the winner.
I created my design in Photoshop…but you could also easily do it on Canva. Or even in the Cricut Design Space itself.

There is something so relaxing to me when I weed vinyl! I got this handy Vinyl scrap collector off amazon and it’s been so helpful. It sticks to the table so I can easily hook and snag my vinyl in there as I go. (Ignore my leftover gel manicure- this was hours before I went to get a refresh..of course. haha. Now they are all cute and pink for spring!)

I honestly don’t even need to give you a tutorial on how to use the machine…The Cricut EasyPress app has it all laid out for you! Even with videos showing you exactly what to do. I remember the days of looking up youtube videos and then jumping back to the project…back and forth as I would teach myself something new. haha. Now It’s all on our phone right there connected to the device. So cool!

(This was pre-peeling off the vinyl backing. Love that part…so satisfying!)

TA-DA! Cute tiny aprons for my little boys!

I whipped these babies up super fast during nap time….the big boys came home from school, Chase woke up and immediately the little three were playing in the cafe with their aprons. I love when I can complete a task in one sitting…it just feels good. NOW, the laundry for our trip didn’t happen….but IT’S FINEEEE… haha. This was fun and they were so happy. :)

I love how creative you can get with this kid apron project…you could do their names.. their cafe’s name.. the sky is the limit! The boys are REALLY into their names. (Especially Hunter) So I really wanted to put them on the aprons and it was a hit! They were busy bees in the sunroom cafe and store! Such a cute and friendly staff. ;)

I came into the kitchen later in the evening and saw that they had put their aprons back on and were back at it…whipping up some yummy food. That’s the kind of project I love…ones that spark creative play!
Thank you to Cricut for gifting me with the EasyPress 3. I always love working with this brand…they are a dream and I can’t rave enough about their products.
