Home Tour – Our Master Bedroom

March 5, 2020

I’ve been working on our Master Bedroom this week and it’s finally done!
I wanted a peaceful and pretty space all set up before baby arrives.
If I’m going to be up every 3 hours with a cute baby why not be up in a nice room, right?
Excited to share how it all came together.
We already had most of the big furniture so it was really the decor details and paint that helped pull it together.
My goal for the room was to make it feel cozy and calm. Lots of whites, woods, textures and greenery.

First Up: Paint color is Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore.
We love this neutral grey color and have used it throughout most of the house.
The doors were also black when we moved in…and I painted them my go-to trim/door paint color: Alabaster by Sherwin Williams.

The three tiered wood wall shelf is from Hobby Lobby.
It was actually put together backwards at the store so I asked for a discount and they gave it to me!
It was already on sale too so I got it for $25!
Ben fixed it for me and I love how it looks in the room.
I put some faux greenery, frames and sentimental items on it.
(Top greenery is from Marshall’s, second row is Hobby lobby and bottom is Target: faux thistle.)

We got our bed years ago in Louisiana at a store called Ivan Smith Furniture.
I loveee it. The bedding is from Target and eventually I want to update that but for now I just got a couple pieces on clearance at Target.
The oversized end of bed throw from Opalhouse and Hearth & Hand Lumbar Throw Pillow.

Our nightstands are IKEA HEMNES 3 drawer dressers.
We already had these and needed one more larger dresser…so to make it a “set” we ended up just getting the IKEA HEMNES 8 drawer dresser.
The lamps were already there but I updated them by getting off white shades from Target.
Ben thought I got new lamps haha it’s crazy what a new shade can do!
I love the artwork behind each nightstand.
I feel like just layering some favorite pieces really made it feel homie.
All of the wall decor is old or new from Hobby Lobby.
The greenery on the nightstands are from Target.
Threshold rosemary plant in ceramic pot, Faux locust from Hearth & Hand  The tall greenery is bargain bin find in a Hearth & Hand vase.
I put a basket we already had on one of the nightstands to hold the ceiling fan remote and the tv remote. I like having a designated spot for things!

Across from our bed we have the IKEA HEMNES dresser and TV.
The dresser is half for baby and half for Ben. My clothes are in the Master closet and my nightstand.
The TV is massive and so heavy so not able to mount it…eventually we want to get a new one and mount it.
I love how on the weekends everyone ends up in our room (kids on every level haha) and we will watch a show or movie….
and with this pregnancy I’ve needed to relax on my side a lot to slow down contractions and it’s nice having the tv there.
The artwork is Hobby Lobby and then one of our engagement photos we had printed on a canvas years ago.
We also hung up the IKEA Hemnes mirror that we’ve had for years waiting for a spot. haha.

With baby 6 arriving in a few weeks I’ve been getting things ready!
Our Bassinet is arriving soon and will go in the corner/move around to my side of the bed.
We have the IKEA RASKOG cart and filled it up with the tiny newborn diapers, some wipes and swaddle blankets.
That cart is so handy!

I used to have my desk down in the playroom… but for a few reasons I ended up moving it upstairs.
Not sure how long it will stay here but for NOW it is working.
I’ve found that I don’t get on it as much since it’s up in our room…. and the kids aren’t trying to get on it either haha.
Being a stay at home mama to 5 (soon 6) kids and a Blogger as a job….I have to be able to have some uninterrupted work time and it’s been nice being up and away during those designated work times.
Every season is different but right now I’m finding that I do more solid work times instead of hopping on and off all day. It’s been good.
My Desk is Threshold from Target. I saw they have a new color options too (like a weathered grey one!)
The stool is IKEA. The lamp is Walmart?? and the greenery is Target.
The wall decor are both Hobby Lobby. The metal bin was an old find from Kohls but I’ve seen similar ones at Hobby Lobby.
I like having my calendar, lists and current projects in there.
I used to have a wall mount of jars for pens/pencils… but it was too tempting for the kids and they always got into trouble or cleared me out haha.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you feel motivated to make your bedroom a priority on the to-do list!
There’s still things we want to do in the room… like a rug under the bed and a thinner mounted tv… but I didn’t want to wait to enjoy the room.
It is so worth it…you’ll be glad you made it a comfy + cozy space!

Great job girl! It looks like such a calm space for you to relax and bring a new little one home to.
I need to find that better together sign. It’s a line Inna Jack Johnson song that we love! ❤️

Apologies if you already linked to it in the post, but where is the cute little black wrought iron house with candle from?

    Blessings and Love
