Pizza Making with Hormel Pepperoni!

October 30, 2020

With the times that we are in, we’ve been trying to make family time on the weekends feel a little more special. Partially to help define the weekend from the week haha! Pizza making is a perfect family activity that doubles as meal time too! We were recently invited by Hormel® Pepperoni to attend a Virtual Pizza Making Party and it was so fun! They were celebrating the launch of the Hormel Pepperoni Cup N’Crisp and we were down for learning some tips and tricks.

We had received a box of pizza making supplies earlier in the week – I bought the shredded mozzarella cheese- and we were ready for our pizza making party! I made the dough while the kids were at school and it was actually easier than I remembered. It had been a while since I made it from scratch. You could also just buy pre-made dough to make pizza making night even easier with the fam. We tuned into the virtual pizza making party and learned tips and tricks to making the best pizza! There were a whole bunch of us on the zoom, tuning in to the Pizza School, and for every influencer that participated, Hormel donated thirty packages of pepperoni snacks to support families during this time through Feed America.

The star of our pizza was the Hormel® Pepperoni Cup N’ Crisps: -A Premium pizza topping crafted to cup and crisp, bringing high-quality restaurant flavor to our kitchen table! I had to stop the kids from eating them all before they landed on the pizzas! ;) Unlike traditional lay flat pepperoni, Hormel® Pepperoni Cup N’ Crisp curls into a bowl shape as it cooks to crispy perfection. Also known as “roni cups” or “cup and char” pepperoni, my kids were all about it!

It was fun seeing the kids get into the pizza making process…and you better believe they were proud of their masterpieces! As soon as the pizzas were crispy we all dove into the cheesy melty pepperoni goodness. I’m a fan of family activities that include food. ;) Thanks to Hormel for sponsored today’s post and inspiring our family activity! I see many more pizza making nights coming up this fall – so delicious!

We have our “Perno Pizza Fridays” every Friday night in our house, it’s turned into a tradition that we know the kids will remember forever.

You’re right, making dough is so much easier than most people think! Are links allowed here? We use this one with the Instant Yeast: https://www.crazyforcrust.com/the-ultimate-pizza-crust-recipe/
