Room Tour: Hunter’s Nursery

February 13, 2020

I’ve been working on getting Hunter’s room all set up before baby arrives!
Eventually, he will go into the shared big boy room and baby will use this space. We don’t know what we are having so I kept it pretty neutral so it could go either way with a few tweaks. We keep the baby in a basinet in our room for at least a few months. I love having this calm and simple space for Hunter right now. Most of the decor we already had and then I added a few new pieces to pull it together! Whenever I clean and organize a room it ends up being  EXACTLY where everyone wants to hang out. I keep finding the little boys playing legos in here on the nice rug! :)

We painted the walls the same as most of our living spaces: Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter.
This is the crib we have used for all of our babies! It’s a little worn down but the plan is to get another crib when we transition Hunter to the big boy room. (I want to keep him in a crib as long as possible haha.)

The frames over the crib are Hobby Lobby.
I found the rug at Target on sale… it’s actually an outdoor rug but it was so soft and added texture to the room.
I had the faux plant already but grabbed the plant holder (opal house) at Target. I liked the height it gave it.
I had the two bins already and we use those to hold 1. stuffed animals and 2. larger toys like his airplanes and cars.

The wall hanging unit on the wall is an oldie but goodie from Hobby Lobby. I got the cute hanging details from there as well.
I put some of our favorite baby books on the shelves and some balls.
The cute llama and cloud are from Hobby Lobby.

I simplified the toys and got a new bookcase with cubbies and it’s made a huge difference with clean up! He loves being able to dump all the little people and legos into the open bin areas. Hunter has other toys in sorted bins in the closet…but I like only having a few themed toy groupings out! It’s more managable.
The chair is soo old but I LOVE IT. It’s La-Z-Boy and has been the comfiest chair to nurse in. I could probably find a smaller one to fit the space better but I’m not ready to part with it haha. The picture ledges are from IKEA and hold some of our favorite books.

The curtains are from Target on an IKEA curtain rod.
I love how much they block out the light! Makes nap time so much easier.
